Guidelines
keep64 is a place to keep a diary of what you play and read what other people thought. That works when people are honest and it stops working when people are cruel. These are the rules that keep the first thing true.
Swear as much as you like. “This game rules” and “this game is garbage” are both reviews, and neither is a problem. Every rule below is about who you aim something at, not the words you use to say it.
1
Don't attack people
Criticise the game, not the person who liked it. Harassment, threats, insults aimed at another member, and pile-ons are the fastest way to lose an account here. Strong language is welcome; strong language pointed at someone is not.
2
No hate speech, including the coded kind
Nothing that demeans people for who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, or sexuality. Dog whistles and numeric codes count, and playing dumb about them doesn't help.
3
Nothing sexual involving minors
Content sexualising minors, real or drawn, means immediate removal and a permanent ban. There is no warning step for this one, and it is reported onward where the law requires it.
4
Mark your spoilers
Flag reviews that give away significant plot or a major twist. If a moderator sets the spoiler flag on something of yours, leave it set.
5
Write your own reviews
Don't pass off someone else's writing as yours, and don't post machine-generated reviews. Quoting is fine when you say where it came from.
6
Reviews should be about the game
Spam, advertising, referral links, and posts that use a game's page to talk about something else get removed. A joke review is fine. A copypasta pasted onto forty games is not.
7
Don't pretend to be someone else
No impersonating another member, a developer, or keep64 itself. Names that imply you work here are reserved and can't be registered.
What happens when a rule is broken
Content that breaks a rule is hidden rather than deleted: it disappears from game pages, the feed, and profiles, but stays visible to whoever wrote it. Repeatedly breaking the rules gets an account suspended, which hides everything on it at once. Section 3 is the exception and skips straight to a permanent ban.
When something of yours is hidden, the reason will name the section above. If you think it was the wrong call, reply to that message and say so.
Reporting something
There is no report button yet — the site is small enough that a person reads every message. Until there is one, email hello@keep64.example with a link to the review, list or profile, and what is wrong with it. Anything covered by section 3 goes to the top of the pile.
